The winter chill is soon thawing, and my urge to ship those bulky coats straight back to Mississippi is getting stronger with every degree the temperature rises. I can finally say, in good faith, that this southern girl has mostly survived her first NYC winter.
With spring on the horizon, my wardrobe cravings are shifting. Lighter layers, fresh colors, and pieces that breathe—because if there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that New York winters demand practicality, but spring invites a little more fun. This month’s finds reflect that transition: a mix of easygoing staples, a few playful statement pieces, and, of course, some new favorites that have me excited to step outside without three layers of insulation. Enjoy!

Floral Fondness
Florals for spring… groundbreaking. I know, I know—predictable. Very predictable. But after months of staring out my window at nothing but bare branches, I’m craving a touch of Mother Nature in full bloom—not just outside, but in my wardrobe too.

Striking Stripes
There’s something timeless about stripes—crisp, classic, and effortlessly cool. They have a way of making even the simplest outfits feel intentional. Maybe it’s their versatility—nautical one moment, Parisian chic the next. Or maybe it’s how they add just the right amount of visual interest without overwhelming a look.
Lately, I’ve been reaching for stripes more and more. They’re reliable yet exciting, structured yet playful. And no matter how trends come and go, stripes always find their way back into my wardrobe.

Lucky Greens
I’ve been feeling lucky—and no, it’s not just because St. Patrick’s Day is around the corner (though I guess that works too!). Lately, I’ve found myself drawn to all things green, from deep emerald to soft sage. There’s something refreshing, even grounding, about the color—it feels like a little nod to new beginnings, growth, and maybe even a bit of luck.

Satins & Silks Oh My!
There’s something about the effortless elegance of silk and satin that never fails to captivate me. The way the fabric drapes, catching the light with every movement, adds an instant touch of refinement to even the simplest outfits. Whether it’s a slinky slip dress or a delicate blouse, these fabrics have a way of making you feel polished and put together with minimal effort. Lately, I’ve been reaching for anything that brings that soft, glossy finish to my wardrobe—because who doesn’t want to feel a little more elevated in their everyday life?

Fisherman Off Duty
So, everyone wants to be a fisherman now, apparently. The rugged knits, weathered jackets, and sturdy boots have made their way from the docks to the streets, and suddenly, the fisherman aesthetic is the look of the moment. But for me, fishing wasn’t just an aesthetic—it was a part of life.
Growing up on the Gulf Coast of Mississippi, fishing was second nature. I can still picture hopping into my dad’s Ford Explorer, windows down, as we made our way to the harbor. The backseat filled with worn-down buckets, a cooler, and a Ziploc bag of fresh shrimp we bought from the tackle man selling bait out of his van on the way to the shore. The air smelled of salt and fresh catches of the day, the hum of boat motors blending with the calls of seagulls circling overhead. It was never about looking the part—it was about the patience, the waiting, the simple joy of being near the water.
