Happy Monday, friends! We’re back after a much-needed (and slightly unexpected) break following the flop that was last week. It’s officially November, and I’m counting down the days until I (hopefully—fingers crossed my flight doesn’t get canceled) head home for Thanksgiving.
In the meantime, a few exciting moments have made up for the slow week — including being featured on some of my favorite Stacks and finally launching my long-awaited Holiday Shop, filled with over 360+ curated gifts all in one place. Here’s to both of us starting the week on a high note as we dive into new segments, new stacks, new news bites, and even new experiences (this one involves a needle 😉).
Let’s get into this week’s Roundup!

It’s funny to think that at 25, the only piercings I’ve ever had are the ones I got the day I was born. Growing up, I never really gave much thought to getting more—it just wasn’t something that ever felt necessary. Maybe that’s because the image of ear piercing that stuck with me wasn’t exactly glamorous. I blame my favorite movie The Parent Trap—specifically that unforgettable scene where one Lindsay Lohan pierces the other’s ear with nothing but an ice cube, an apple wedge, and a sewing needle, followed by that iconic scream echoing through summer camp. That was enough to keep me far, far away from the idea. But when Studs reached out offering me the chance to get pierced, I figured maybe it was time. At 25, why not evolve a little—try something new, something that pushed me just a touch outside my comfort zone?
Before I get into my experience, let’s talk about Studs. Founded in 2019, Studs has quickly become the go-to destination for ear piercing and jewelry with style, safety, and self-expression at the core of its mission. With more than 38 studios nationwide — and several across New York — the brand has redefined the piercing experience. Gone are the mall kiosks and piercing guns; Studs focuses on precision, safety, and individuality, using single-use sterilized needles and implant-grade materials. Their coined concept, “Earscaping,” celebrates curating piercings that reflect you — no matter your style or stage of life.
For my appointment, I chose the Flatiron location, a quick 20-minute L train ride from Williamsburg. I showed up with a mix of excitement and nerves, but was instantly put at ease by the warm smiles of the staff. After the easy, paperless check-in, I met Mickey — my piercer, consultant, and instant hype woman. I had no idea what I wanted (which is very unlike me), but she walked me through all the jewelry options, helping me visualize what would best complement my ear shape. We landed on two piercings — a stacked lobe and an upper lobe, both on my left ear. Once inside the softly lit piercing room, Mickey carefully mapped out the placements with a marker. After a few adjustments — third time’s the charm — we were ready. I even earned a compliment on my “perfectly smooth lobes” (a title I’ll proudly hold). As she was setting up her supplies we chatted about adjusting to New York life, our mutual love/hate for the MTA, and even my mom’s insistence that I stop being a weenie and just do it with Mickey even suggesting a mom-daughter piercing day for next time (I might take her up on that idea). A few breaths later, I had two gleaming new additions: a 14k mini diamond stud and a 14k star flatback. And just like that, I was officially a Studs girl.
Before I left, the team handed me a little aftercare goodie bag to make sure my lobes heal smoothly. Inside was everything I needed — a NeilMed Piercing Aftercare Fine Mist spray, a Studs pouch filled with stickers, a care guide book (so there’s zero guesswork), and a free gift punch card for future visits. With all the essentials and instructions laid out clearly, caring for my new piercings felt simple and kind of…fun.
Overall, my Studs experience was better than I could have imagined — personal, comfortable, and confidence-boosting. Whether you’re a piercing pro or a first-timer like me, Studs makes the experience feel like a celebration, not a chore. If you’re in New York, you can book an appointment at any of their studio locations or find a studio near you on their website. Huge thank you to the Studs team (and especially Mackie!) for making my first piercing experience at 25 such a memorable one. Be sure to follow @studs for endless ear inspiration — and who knows, maybe you’ll be booking your next piercing, too.

This week, I’m turning my attention to a print that’s quietly making a big splash in fashion: fawn print, affectionately I dubbed “nature’s polka dot.” Inspired by the delicate, dappled coat of a young deer, this pattern offers a softer, more whimsical take on the classic animal print trend. Unlike leopard or zebra, which can feel bold or aggressive, fawn print is understated, romantic, and versatile, making it perfect for those looking to introduce subtle pattern into their wardrobe.
Fawn print isn’t entirely new to fashion—it has appeared sporadically over the past decade, often in outerwear and dresses—but its resurgence feels particularly timely. As consumers increasingly gravitate toward nature-inspired textures, sustainable vibes, and quieter luxury, the pattern hits a sweet spot between trendiness and timeless appeal. Editors and stylists are noting it as one of the must-watch prints for fall, with its versatility allowing it to work in everything from structured coats to flowing dresses and casual accessories.
Currently, a number of brands have embraced the motif. High-end labels like Burberry and Sandy Liang are incorporating it into silk dresses and statement outerwear, while contemporary brands such as Never Fully Dressed, ASOS, and Nasty Gal are offering more accessible options. Even accessories—from fanny packs to footwear—have begun appearing in fawn print, letting fashion lovers test the trend at different price points. The combination of its natural, understated aesthetic and broad availability suggests that fawn print isn’t just a fleeting fad—it’s poised to grow into a seasonal staple for the months ahead.

While I won’t be taking part in this year’s Sephora sale, I couldn’t resist rounding up a few standouts for anyone planning one last splurge. Think of it as a final scroll through the beauty aisles before the event wraps tomorrow — a mix of tried-and-true staples and little luxuries worth adding to your cart while there’s still time.
